Jacktoberfest welcomes craft brewers from around the state to participate in central Mississippi’s first public outdoor craft brew competition and sampling. Important Dates & Times: ENTRY FORM & FEE DEADLINE - October 7, 2011 FESTIVAL - Friday, October 21st 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. CRAFT BREW COMPETITION - Friday, October 21st at 5 p.m. BEER GARDEN TASTING - Friday, October 21st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Competition Rules: 1. Jacktoberfest 2011 Craft Brew Competition is open exclusively to brewers wishing to participate in the street festival. No mail in or drop-off entries will be accepted. 2. All craft brew participants must be at least 21 years of age. 3. The competition is open to amateur brewers only. No beers brewed on commercial brewery equipment will be accepted. 4. Craft brews may be entered into the competition under the following four categories:
different fermentations or of different ingredients. 6. Each entry shall consist of (4) four 12 oz. bottles. Since participants must be present to enter, beers may also be brought in kegs, growlers, pigs or any other form as long as it is roughly 48 ounces. More beer is of course welcome! 7. All entries must be entered online via the craft brew competition entry form. 8. An entry fee of ($10) ten dollars must be paid for your first entry. You may enter additional beers at no extra cost. The entry fee includes one Jacktoberfest 2011 souvenir pint glass and one admission to the Craft Brew Beer Garden on the festival site. Payment for the entry will be through a PayPal link on the online entry form. 9. Deadline for entries is October 7, 2011. At this time, only the online form and entry fee is due. 10.Judging of the entries will be done by up to 5 judges. All judging will be done via blind tasting so your bottles may include labels and artwork designs. 11.Entries must be registered at the festival site by 5 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2011 to be judged. Our goal is to have each brew cooled and rested prior to the judging. 12.There will be a first place medal for each of the four categories. There will also be two additional medals; one Best in Show and one People’s Choice winner. The winners will be announced on stage the evening of the competition. Additional medal and prize details will be announced on the Jacktoberfest website closer to the competition date. 13.We understand beers don’t always turn out as planned and we ask you to let us know as soon as possible if you will be withdrawing a beer.
